Hi, I’m Lindsey!

I graduated from the College of Southern Nevada, earning my associate’s degree in Women’s Studies. Now, I’m excited to dive into the next chapter of my educational journey at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in Communications with a minor in Journalism and Media Studies. My academic journey is a natural extension of my passion for storytelling and my desire to create meaningful dialogues around issues that matter.

When I’m not buried in books, I navigate the complexities of digital media and content creation as a writer, photographer, and filmmaker.

For the last decade, I have worked as a content manager, first for a prominent e-commerce company and now for a leading sports betting company based in Las Vegas. Both roles gave me a unique insight into the fast-paced world of fashion, sports media, and gaming.

A few years ago, I founded a small LGBTQ+ media company, which I currently run part-time. Through this platform, I explore various topics, from social justice and relationships to entertainment, sports, and travel, focusing on the interests and needs of the LGBTQ+ community. My dream is to turn this passion project into a full-time career while creating a colorful and safe space that celebrates, empowers, and inspires the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.

So, what drives me?

My driving force is a commitment to sharing stories that hold significance. I strive to have meaningful discussions and challenge perceptions.

However, I also want to have fun!

I love to travel, and in addition to writing, I greatly appreciate photography. I especially love candid images that capture life’s raw, unfiltered moments. These genuine, unscripted glimpses often go unnoticed but can tell a powerful story. Some of my favorite events that I photographed were the 2017 Women’s March in Washington, D.C., and the 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) game vs. Wales.

Outside of my work and studies, I cherish spending time with my wife, our dog, and our close-knit circle of family and friends. These moments, whether exploring new places, enjoying cozy movie nights, or sharing laughs over a meal, remind me of what truly matters: love and connection.

What captivates me most about media and communication is its transformative power.

I’m fascinated by the media’s ability to shape cultures and bridge divides. How can a single story be so powerful that it moves people to action or evokes deep emotional responses? How can we use the media to ensure every voice is heard, especially those often overlooked? As I continue my journey, both academically and professionally, I remain committed to exploring these questions.

Additionally, I’m deeply curious about the ethical responsibilities of content creators in today’s media landscape. How can we balance creative freedom with the need for accurate representation and avoid stereotypes or spreading misinformation?

Every day, I strive to learn, do more, and be more in my pursuit to build a fulfilling and impactful career.
